Pt. Vikas
Kashalkar is a well-known artist of the Gwalior Gharana.
He hails from a family of musicians. His initial training
was under his father Adv. N. D.Kashalkar, a renowned
musicologist & writer. Further groomed in Gwalior Style
under the tutelage of Pt.Gajananrao Joshi, a stalwart. He
has the Sangeetacharya - Doctorate Degree (PhD), and is
associated with many prestigious musical institutions. He is
also an A Grade Artist of All India Radio.
Blessed with a mellifluous, deep voice & pleasing
presentation style rooted in tradition, his imagination
knows no boundaries. His music also has a deep influence of
Jaipur, Kirana and Agra styles. Brilliantly accentuated with
a splendid sense of rhythm, skillful layakari, intricate
Taan and melodic balance, every concert is a divine
experience. With numerous concerts all over India and on
television channels Pt. Vikas Kashalkar has acquired the
repute of a creative musical genius.

Initiated into music by his father
Deviprasad Kharwandikar, Makarand Kharwandikar
pursued his interest in Music under the guidance of Pandit
Vikas Kashalkar, as a top grade harmonium player. He has
accompanied many leading musicians like Dr. Veena
Sahasrabuddhe, Dr. Alka Deo-Marulkar, Smt. Shruti Sadolikar-
Katkar, Smt. Devaki Pandit , Pt. Babanrao Haldankar,
Smt.Manjiri Karve-Alegaonkar in many music concerts all
over.

Jayant Bhopatkar learned tabla since his age of
9 from the able hands of Vasant Keluskar and is currently
taking lessons from Harshad Kanetkar. Jayant has accompanied
many a visiting artists including Padma Talwalkar, Veena
Sahasrabuddhe, and Pt. Atul Vyas to name a few. He is also a
founding member of the Marathi band Swarali and has done
shows at BMM Conventions in New York, Atlanta, and Seattle.
Jayant loves performing arts and can also be seen active in
the community affairs. When he finds time from it all, you
will find him working at Microsoft.
